because i am a daddy

i caught myself today in how to be a daddy even when you don't think of it.
there is that shopping mal villagio here in doha and inside this mal is a very big supermarket.
i was there today to do some small shoing when i suddenly found myself in the baby section in the supermarket.
i was not even aware of it, something just lead me there.
it came to me later today that this was already the second time that i did it, without noticing it.

the tings that i was looking for in the baby section were colins milk, of course they don't have it here, diapers, carrots in glass or potatoes in glass well that they have and of course cloth.
well the choice there of cloth was not so much impressive, but inside the mal are more baby shops where to find better things for him.
i really thought about were to buy his stuff, and also for us when we would life here.
and the funny part was the thought "i don't want to live here, but you never know"

still it is so fascinating for me to be a daddy even when it happens to be complete unconscious and it shows me that colin and my sweety are always with me, even when they are miles away and that is a great feeling.

if i go to qatar i take it all

it is one of this mornings were you should already stay in bed before you start doing anything else.
actually it started yesterday already.
i am now back in qatar a have to do some support work for our customer on site. it is kind of natural that there are some things which needs to be repaired like there is one pcb that needs to be changed.
it is normally a thing from 15 minutes to change this print, but if your colleagues have been so nice to separate all tools from the only left complete tool box makes it more "challenging" to finish that task in 15 minutes.
well actually it is impossible, first you see that the tools that you need are not in the tool box, than you point out some words in the direction of id****, f**k, bu*****t and so on (takes also a moment to finish with all those word hehehe) than you go back to the container with the rest of the tools, find that container completely unorganized but after 30 minutes of searching you will find the tool that you need, not in good shape but at least you find it.
than you go back again to change the print and find out that someone fixed the screws soooooo tight that you need so much force to loose the screws that the tool that you just found is in that bad shape that you cant loosen the screws. than comes thees words again........
of course you don't give up that easy on that screws so you try and try and try but it wont work in the end.
after 1:30 hours it decided to go home and try it on the next day (also cooled down) again.
my thinking, go there early than it is not so hot and you are awake too.

well i was so wrong, because i was not thinking far enough, mot only that my colleagues did not care about tools or other equipment, they also did not care about or car here on site.
normally you do an oil exchange after approx. 3000 km here in qatar because of the heat and when you know that you leave the country and after maybe three week an other colleague come to take the car, it is a given that you do the oil exchange even before so that the next one does not have to worry about this things an can star directly with his work.
apparently it seems that i am the only one who is thinking like that, because it happens today for the second time after i took the car over, that the warning light of to less oil was appearing in my face when i was on the way to work.
the good thing was i did not drive to far so i could turn around and park the car at the house. now i have to wait until the car garage has open to buy oil.

this thing really suck, because first of all you cant work like you want to, second it creates even more work for you plus anger. and last but not least it goes to your pocket again because you have to pay for it. even if you get the money back it still can't be that i have to pay everything and the others don't care.
so as things are going here in qatar until the garage has open it will be 9 or 10 am. after there will be so much traffic that it will take me around 1.5 hours to go to work and than i have to stay late to finish all the tasks that were on for today.

but tan the day is not over, we have a house here in qatar which our company rented out, and of curse this house needs to be cleaned from time to time.
we always had a cleaner but since he left qatar we were forced to search for a new one. our partner here in doha shall do that for us, the only thing we have to do is follow up if they are searching. but not even this is done, i handed to my colleagues all the contact numbers but when i asked now the person in charge she told me that no one approached her for that matter.
so this is also coming back to me.

next thing, while i am writing this blog entry here i was copying  data from my computer to the company external hard disk. we set up this hard disk in the company with a prepared folder system so that anyone who users this disk from our department knows where to search for files.
of course the first two guys who used the drive did not care about it, they did their own folder structure on the drive so that i can now search for the files manually.

it is getting better and better.......
it could be so easy but not when you work with people who make your life "interesting"

colin and papa building lego (part 1)

what you can see in the picture are two "boys" who are building lego :)
one of them has done it before (that would be papa) but for colin it was the first time.

colin was in mummy's arms when i decided to start on the lego kit that russel gave me as a gift for my birthday (thank you my sweety)
a complete ferrari f1 pit lane with two cars, mechanics and all accessories that you can think of. colin start complaining soon after i started and i took him on my lap and we started together.

well not really starting because i need to watch that colin did not reach the blocks. but he was so curios about it that he started to complain again when i put him for safety reasons back in his rocker.
shows one thing to me, colin likes lego.
this of course make papa veeeery happy because i hope that we can do this together when he is old enough, in around four to five years :)

until than i will to my papa duties and test out all the good stuff for him so that he can start with the real good thing when he has reached the age to play and build it on his own :)

and of course i take my papa duties very serious, so after i started building the pit lane i ordered online the ferrari truck to make the f1 pit lane really complete.
this was a must be, because if i show this to colin later he must know what is all related to a pit lane and a truck is very much related to it and that why it is ordered. not for papas fun, only to make a clear point here, this has educational reasons! :)

well the project is almost finished and now i have to look already for a new "educational project" for colin.
lego city fire fighting might be nice......or the airport?.........or the construction?.......well i keep you updated :)

i am blacklisted, yo!

finaly at the age of 38 i can say that i am a "gangsta", i mean i just follow the trend of the youth who find it cool to be gangster.
well i must be one because i had the confirmation today that i am blacklisted in qatar :)

i am trying now since two weeks to apply for a visa to go to qatar, but since this two weeks the application has been rejected. not that they told me reasons......but today i got the news you are blacklisted.

the funny part behind it is, the people from the immigration in qatar think that i am still in the country, well i am in switzerland :)
i had to submit my passport for the application and the exit stamp inside is very poor, seems like the girl on the counter was sleepy when she put in the stamp on my last departure.
so they could not read it, finally they made an easy conclusion, we can not read it, means he must still be in the country.
crazy you think? not at all, normal routine in qatar, expect the unexpected :)
and that put my on the blacklist of the state of qatar
thank you qatar :)

and here is my rap to it

i am a gangsta
i am on blacklist
i dont like qatar
so you eat my fist
yo!

family outings

colin is very happy baby when he sees that mama and papa are taking his cloth out. because he knows that we will go out for a walk.

it depends on our mood where we take our walk, sometimes it is around muri, other times it is at the river reuss near muri.
we do this now everyday, as soon as i come home from work, we will go for a walk.
in fairness to us, sometimes we use that walk even to go shopping in the nearby supermarket, so that we can leave the car in the garage and enjoy the nice weather.

this walks are really great for us, it is healthy for all three of us, we can forget the stress and we all can settle down. colin even sleeps better since we take that walks.
today it has been kind of a special day for colin. we transformed his stroller into a buggy, means as a big boy from nearly six month of age he has now his first convertible :-)

mama and colin "driving" his new buggy, we have been at the reuss again at a very beautiful day.
russel likes very much toke pictures on our walks, she really enjoys the nature of switzerland.
it is normaly very quiet when we are walking and we all enjoying that very much.
i am am very sure also russels mama will like that kind of outings in tha nature :-)
there are some mote pictures of the area where we walk.

nice isn't it?
